Mr. McGoo's Story...
Mr. McGoo is a young purebred boxer, about 1 1/2 years old, who was abandoned in a neighborhood. He was spotted regularly for quite some time, but was very shy and would not come to anyone. Often, he would travel about with one or another of his doggie friends. Mr. McGoo has such a wistful look that one of our rescuers decided he must be caught, as he clearly wanted a home! Mr. McGoo was thin and very hungry, and the rescuer was able to coax him to her with some food. He let her pet him, and once she did that, it was love at first sight. Mr. McGoo immediately became happy and affectionate, came willingly into the rescuer's house and plopped down with a chewy rawhide. Even though he still had his sweet little wistful face, he was extremely glad to be rescued! He loves attention and loves to be petted. He especially loves rawhide chewies and other treats! He is good with other dogs but he doesn't care for cats. He is good with children and is becoming used to walking on a leash. Mr. McGoo is heartworm negative, has been neutered and is up to date on shots. He's ready to go to his forever home! Please note Mr. McGoo is being fostered in Tennessee; therefore, it would not be possible to meet him prior to adoption. The $450 adoption fee covers the cost of neutering, all immunizations, and transport to your area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. McGoo, a White Plains Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in White Plains, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in White Plains.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in White Plains already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a White Plains breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in White Plains paves the way for another one to be saved.
