Hello! My name is Periwinkle
|Breed:||Netherland Dwarf Mix||Color:||Blue||Age:||Adult|
I am housetrained.
Periwinkle is one of four rabbits abandoned in WV when their former owners moved away and left the buns behind in outdoor hutches. Periwinkle is a blue flower of a little girl, but somewhere along the way she lost her trust for humans and can be agressive. Since she sailed into the port of Solomon's Island, Periwinkle has begun to show interest in people. Quick pets and pick ups are possible. Potential families would have to understand that Periwinkle probably will never be really affectionate and needs her own space. We recommend Periwinkle to bunny-saavy homes only.

Rescue Group Info...
Solomon’s Island Rabbit Refuge, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization that provides sanctuary to companion rabbits. We attempt to place bunnies in quality indoor homes where they can spend joyful and comfortable lives with an adoptive family. Rabbits for whom we cannot find new homes or whom we deem not adoptable due to medical or behavioral conditions or advanced age are welcome to spend the duration of their lives at the sanctuary. During their stay at the refuge, bunnies live in a clean and comfortable indoor environment with a nutritious diet, plenty of fresh water, any necessary medical care, and adoring attention. Solomon’s Island Rabbit Refuge also educates the public about the care of and life with an indoor companion rabbit.
Shelter visits are by appointment only following submission of an adoption application. See our website at www.solomonsisle.org for upcoming adoption events.
Our adoption process includes an interview and home visit, during which applicants will be able to meet the rabbit of their choice. As of May 2006, our adoption donations are $70 for a neutered male, $80 for a spayed female, and $140 for a bonded pair.
