Bart's Story...
Ummmm…I can’t believe this, can you? An adorable ten month old purebred Chocolate Labrador just sitting here in a shelter? What’s the deal yo? I was transferred here from a rural area, a country boy new to city life…I haven’t had much in the obedience training department, but I’m super social and very outgoing. Life is all fun and games, so I am sure that training will be a blast! Aside from being goofy and playful, I’m good with kids, great with other dogs, totally crate trained.….C’mon my Lab people, where you at???!!! Anywho, my name’s Bart, and I’ll be here waiting patiently for my new family…. My adoption fee is $220 and includes; microchip, neuter, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, reduced cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bart, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
