Backstrom's Story...

AARF only adopts in Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding area.

Backstrom is a total cuddle bug. He likes to be with someone all the time. He is doing really well with other dogs. He doesn't like to be left alone. If he is not next to you, he wants to be with another dog. He is doing well with not having accidents in the house so hopefully he will be housetrained soon. He is a little shy at first but he is starting to open up more and more.

For more information, contact aarfva@hotmail.com or visit us at our pet adoption stand Saturdays from 11-3 at the Petsmart on Libbie Ave and Broad St.

** I will be at the Pet Smart at Carmia Way on Saturday, February 12, from 11-3 for the great big MRPS event!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Backstrom, a Richmond Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
