My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

These beagle basset puppies were rescued, along with their parents and five siblings, from a farm family that couldn't care for them. They are 15 weeks old on January 28th and range in weight from 12 pounds to 21 pounds. There are three girls and two boys. The puppies are named Haley, Haddie, Hillary, Henry and Henry.

Haley weighs 14.4 pounds and should be around 25 pounds full grown. She looks like a miniature basset. (bottom right)
Haddie weighs 12 pounds and should be around 20 pounds full grown. She looks like a beagle. (top right)
Hillary weighs 17.4 pounds and should be around 30 pounds full grown. She looks like an elongated beagle. (top left)
Henry weighs 13.6 pounds and should be around 23 pounds full grown. He looks like a miniature basset (bottom left)
Harvey found his forever home!

They have had two distemper/parvo shots, rabies shots, and they are spayed and neutered. They have also been started on heartworm preventive and they have HomeAgain microchips. The puppies are very happy, healthy, and well socialized with cats, dogs and kids. They are house trained when taken outside on a schedule. The puppies are with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Their $250 adoption fee is to cover their full veterinary care. All you will need to do in the next year is keep them on heartworm pills as they are completely up to date on all vet needs.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
