Claudia's Story...
Claudia is a most fetching young lady who arrived at the shelter still lactating from a litter of puppies that she had been wrenched away from, before having been dropped into our night-box. Frightened and overwhelmed in her new environment, Claudia was at first wary of shelter staff and volunteers. Claudia can be a bit snarfy around some dogs. However, with several days of gentleness and patience (and meals of poached chicken breast), Claudia gradually came to understand that she was in a safe place -- one where she would not only be safe from harm, but one where good food, soft blankets, and tender hugs abound. Now Claudia revels in her new environment, and greets every volunteer who enters her kennel to give her some loving or take her out for a walk with absolute delight. She is whip-smart, too and consequently is picking up proper doggie manners quickly. Good girl! She needs an abundance of love! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Claudia, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
