Bear's Story...
BEAR IS IN FOSTER CARE, PLEASE CALL THE SHELTER TO MEET HIM. Bear has more energy than you'd expect for a 17 year old dog. He loves walks and exploring new places. His nose still works great and he has fun sniffing out treats that are hidden. He does of course like his naps in the sun, but loves to be petted while he dreams. At first we thought Bear was deaf, but have discovered he can hear high pitched sounds close up, and also responds to vibration. He is good with dogs, cats, chickens, kids and probably anything else you throw at him. Speaking of throw, he even gets in some ball fetching here and there.
His hips give him just a bit of trouble on stairs but with fish oil and good quality senior food he looks and acts quiet healthy. Bear would make a loyal loving pet for any family and would be the perfect starter dog for a family who has never been dog owners before. What a special privilege to adopt this wonderful ole boy and enjoy his golden years with him. Call foster mom Julie 340-2824 to find out more about him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Meridian Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
