My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bessie is a sweet girl who has come to the shelter to recover from what looks to have been a difficult life. She is quite undernourished, has some scars around her ears, has lost a bit of hair on her back, and has extremely irritated skin from what was probably a long-untreated flea infestation. But Bessie has had a bath and has eaten lots of good food since she's been here, and is looking healthier and more animated with each day. At first, Bessie was quite tentative with people, seemingly unsure whether she could trust them or not, but she has gradually warmed up, and will now let us stroke her and give her fragile body some hugs. In return, Bessie gives sweet little kisses-- not so many as to be effusive, but just enough to let us know that she is letting us into her heart, bit by bit.
