My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Miley is happy, playful, and very sweet.

She is a very happy and friendly little girl, about a year old, weighs 9 pounds. Quite social. Some of the little dogs, I just open up their kennel, open and up the office door - and in they come. Not Miley. She has social obligations. Goes from kennel door to kennel door, saying hi to everyone. And she really can lie down and rest sometimes. She is a snoop; you can't leave a chocolate bar (or your asthma inhaler) in your purse on the floor and not expect her to investigate. She likes to be near her person - even if they're not in the mood to play at the moment. She does need work on 'mouthing behavior' but we did work on that a little while today and she responded well. She's probably the kind of girl who will require a human companion who has the forethought to put away the slippers until she learns the rules.

She came here by way of Animal Control. She was wearing a collar with a metal plate on it with an owner's name and phone number. We have left numerous messages at that number and have received no response. The collar also had a rabies tag on it but the tag did not have a vet name or phone (unusual) so we have not been able to track a possible owner via that route. Today is her sixth day here, and we have given up all reasonable hope that an owner will appear. She will make a great companion dog. And no one will be able to sneak up on her owner's front door either. Not with Miley on guard! Personality plus.
