My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chewy came from a neglectful home where he was kept out in the freezing cold and ice in a 2 foot by 3 foot wire cage for his entire puppy life and fed only enough to make sure he was kept alive. Upon coming to us at 6 months old, he was a skeleton 20.3 pounds and had been deprived any kind of socialization young puppies should have with people and other dogs. The home he came from had 3 other dogs in it, one of the dogs had passed away and was tossed into the backyard like trash.

Chewy is still very young and he because he was so emaciated his growth has been stunted for now, hopefully he will start growing like normal pups his age do again soon.
Chewy also has trust issues with strangers, we are working on helping him be more comfortable around people in general, especially those he doesn't know.
His main fear seems to be taller men with deeper voices. He will hide and cower behind the people he does know and views as his protectors.
This can be worked with and in time corrected as long as guest and his family is willing to work with him. We are working to socialize him as much as possible so that new people and places will not frighten him or make him nervous as much or at all in the future.

Chewy is easy going and is very active. He loves to run and play outside, take walks, or just lay on the couch with people. He has also learned how to run on a treadmill, which has become an activity he looks forward to doing on a daily basis!

Chewy is up to date on vaccines and has been microchipped. Chewy was neutered on 4/18/2010!
