Jolie's Story...
As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Liz directly at 913-226-2694 or liz_novak@hotmail.com to find out when and where you can meet JOLIE!

This lovely girl is Jolie, a 7-8 year old Retriever mix who weighs about 60 pounds. She ended up in the shelter (along with a 10-month-old Black Lab who has been adopted) when her family moved to Arizona. Jolie is 100-percent housetrained, knows commands such as "Sit" and "Down", and is not much of a barker. She's a sweet, calm girl who loves getting belly rubs and going for car rides, where she sits calmly in the back seat. We know there were kids in her previous family, so she is used to being around them and seems to really like them. In fact, she tries to greet all the children she sees while at adoption events! Jolie would make an excellent addition to any family looking for an already trained dog to add to their home. She would also be an excellent companion for another dog, so if you think your dog is lonely and would enjoy a friend, Jolie would be a wonderful choice. Contact Jolie's foster mom to find out where you can meet her!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jolie, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
