Starr Ruger's Story...
Ruger strikes us as an all around good hound, gentle in spirt and kind in nature. He's entered our prison/cell dog program where he'll have the added benefit of basic manners and obedience training. Ruger is set to be paroled in late September. Ruger is a full brother (although not a littermate) of Hoola (DC's Hulda Drive) and Homey (DC's Homey Drive), two of Greys Matter's wonderful ambassadogs, and shares his brothers' excellent temperaments.
If you'd like to meet Ruger before he is paroled just let us know and we'll arrange a day for you to accompany our trainer Kat Martin (Central Bark Dog Training) through a prison training session.

Act quickly to adopt Starr Ruger. Pets at this Rescue Group may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Starr Ruger, a Hendersonville Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Hendersonville, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Hendersonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hendersonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hendersonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hendersonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
