My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"SASS" -- is an 8-months-old purebred, smoothcoated Border Collie female with registration papers. She will be spayed before placement. Sass was turned over to rescue in Maine by her owner.

She is full of energy and has had no training, but she is very loving and will crawl into your lap for kisses.

Sass has had no experience with other dogs, but is being given a crash course in dog-dog relationships this week as her foster mom has 6 other dogs in the household currently.

Sass has adjusted to her new surroundings in no time. She is smart, playful, loving, very energetic and ever-ready for a new adventure. She passed her crash course in dog-dog relationship with flying colors and is now a full fledged member of the pack.

Her former family included children ages 8 and 10 and she was fine with them. She is curious about the cat, but shows no aggression, she would, however, love nothing more than to play-chase it were he to give the opportunity.

Sass is a bundle of love and energy and very much a puppy still. She was never crate-trained but does sleeps in one at night and is quiet so long as she can see her foster mother in the bed and rest assured that nothing is happening without her. At first she will whine and bark when put in the crate during the day when no one is home, but is quiet upon her foster mother's return, so at some point she goes to sleep. She's already made progress and will actually venture in her crate during the day if only for a minute.

She is not housebroken but we are working on that. Sass loves treats and is responding quickly to basic training.

She's an absolute sweetheart, has tons of charm and will make a wonderful companion.
