Oakland's Story...
Oakland
Est. DOB: 12/2009
Color: DSH Light Brown Tabby
Gender: M

I came in with my brother, Orion, and he's already found him a new home. After brother was adopted, mommy let me come around to her at my own pace and before you knew it, I was coming up to her to be petted (I used to run from her and hide). Now I run to her as soon as I see her and I'm even letting her hold me (rather, cradle me like a baby) for more than just a minute. My biggest fete is that I've actually gone in and laid down in her bedroom (across the room and right at the door, but hey, that counts right?) along with her and the 3 dogs that wander around here.

I've even gotten to be friends with the doggies and only run when they decide they want to play or chase me. I'm still a little skittish at sudden movements or loud noises, but I soon recover. I'm looking for somebody who will understand that I'm really turning into a lovebug but you will have to give me time and space and let me come around to you as I get to feel comfortable with everything.

Like I said, I stayed hidden for a while after I got here but now I'm out with the big boys and love it and love getting attention from my mommy. I'm still shy with strangers, and it might be that when they come over they might never get to see me, but mommy used to have one like that and now he comes up to strangers all the time; it's just going to take time. Do you have the time and love you'd like to share with me? I enjoy being brushed and love to play with toys so that's a sure fire way to get me to like you. Come out and meet me, I've got this really gorgeous coloring that just doesn't show up true in pictures.

Fully vetted: treated for fleas, ear mites, and intestinal parasites, tested for FeLV/FIV (negative unless otherwise noted), spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations (including FVRCP+FeLV [initial vaccination and booster] and rabies), and microchipped with Home Again microchips with shelter paid registration.

Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our cats are in foster homes. Cats can be met at our various adoption events throughout the month or by making appointmetn to visit the cat in its foster home. To make an appointment to meet a cat, please email info@alleycatsandangels.org or call 919-303-3500.
