My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thurman is a 1 and 1/2 years old good looking guy who found himself into a kill shelter in rural Georgia. He is very sweet, gets along with other dogs, females or males, and rides well in the car. His new best friend is Dakota. Thurman was HW+ but he is undergoing treatment and he will be as good as new and ready for his new family in a couple of weeks. As you can see Thurman likes to smile.

UPDATE: The boys arrived to town! All three of them (Thurman, Dakota, and Watson) are very handsome, quiet and well mannered. Thurman rode up front w./me and Dakota and Watson rode in the backseat. They did not move nor make a sound....and they had already been in a car 1.5 hrs to meet me. Thurman is so very sweet and a very handsome young man, very photogenic. He gets along w/everyone, Beylea (adopted Jan 2011) especially. He loved the neighborhood kids, as you can see form the pic, and they spend a lot of time walking him up and down the street and loving on him.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM : Thurman has been with us for almost a week and has given me plenty of reasons to smile. The first night he came home he was afraid to go through the front door. He could hear my dogs inside and wouldn't budge. I finally picked him up and carried him inside. He spent the first hour hiding behind me while everyone else introduced themselves. Later that night I heard a "yip" from the kitchen followed by conversation. I wondered what was going on and found Salsa sitting in the hallway between Thurman and me. Salsa was trying to play with him. I could tell that he wanted to come back in the den with me, but he was afraid to move past Salsa. Rather than be aggressive or start barking, he decided to quietly explain to Salsa why he needed to move past. I've dubbed him our Diplomat. Today he discovered his reflection in the mirror. He sat and stared at himself for a little while, but when he got up to leave so did his reflection and he scared himself. As the week progressed he started to find his self confidence and tried to engage the other dogs in play. When he does, he gives off this funny little growling sound that reminds me of Chubacca from Starwars. It's hysterical. He is still timid in many ways, but he's getting past his fear of small places. He loves nothing more than to cuddle with me and have his tummy rubbed. He is a very happy boy and has a very gentle manner about him.
