Scooter~~adopted 3/2011~~'s Story...
Hi! My name is Scooter. I am a little mix boy who came into rescue with my friend bella. Our family did not want us anymore because they said they did not have time for us. I am about 4 years old and I am black and white in color. I am a cute little guy. I am a bit on the shyer side then my friend bella, But once I get to know you I am as friendly as can be. I am looking for a home with the time to lavish attention on me. I like to be held and carried around, I love to romp and play in the snow. this snowstorm has been heaven for me. I am housetrained and crate trained, I would do well in a home with calmer kids, maybe a little older so they dont scare me as much, and a home probably with or without cats, and I would like to be the only dog. that is my dream. all of the attention for just me. I want to be spoiled. I like to go for car rides so I would like to be able to go places with the person that adopts me. I also like to go for walks. i do need some leash manners, but since I am small, I dont pull that hard. Youll be missing out if you pass me by! I cant wait to move into my forever home. will that be with you? I hope so!

Adoption Fee is $ 300.00

Adoption fee covers for our Adoption Package for dogs which includes: heart worm checked, treated for any fleas and worms, monthly heartworm medication, microchipped, up to date rabies vaccination, spayed/neutered, grooming, DHLPP vaccinations. Discounted 30 days of health insurance, and FREE basic & problem solving training before and after adoption if needed. Full health records are provided to the adopters. DISCOUNTED photo sessions for your dogs at www.saywoofphotography.com

The Adoption fee we ask of adopters is not to pay for the dog. The dog itself is free! The Adoption fee is used merely to reimburse our rescue for veterinary expenses that any responsible owner would spend anyway when bringing a new dog into their home. Howeverever if there are any funds left over from one dogs adoption fee, it is used to help the next dog that comes along. Sometimes FSFH's veterinarian expenses on one animal will be less than this fee, but another dog might require several hundred additional dollars worth of care. Without being able to recover at least the minimal veterinarian expenses on our dogs, FSFH could not continue to rescue. FSFH's fee does not cover the general cost of keeping a dog in rescue (food, equipment, etc.). FSFH relies solely on donations to cover all other expenses related to caring for their rescued dogs. Thank you for understanding.

If interested in adopting please go to www.fewstepsfromhome.com to get an application.

We also accept donations of dog food, cat food, cat litter, and large durable dog toys.
Vet care Donations needed also!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooter~~adopted 3/2011~~, a Bay City Shih Tzu/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Bay City, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Bay City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bay City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bay City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bay City paves the way for another one to be saved.
