Maddie's Story...
Say hello to Maddie! She is a sweet, 10 month old lab mix in need of her forever family. Maddie loves EVERYTHING! Really… kids, dogs, cats, riding in the car… EVERYTHING. The thing she would love most is a family to spend the rest of her life with. See sweet Maddie was dumped off on the side of the road and found by a loving family who have so many of their own rescue pups that they wanted to see Maddie go to a family with lots of love and time to give her. She is very friendly and would be an easy fit in most any family. She is crate trained and leash trained. She’s about 50 lbs and 22 inches tall at the shoulder – so she’s a great size…not too big and not too small. Of course she is still young, so like any dog she would benefit from time and training. Maddie is spayed, up-to-date on all her shots and microchipped. She is looking for her FORever home… if it’s with you, please contact us for an application. Maddie cannot wait to meet you!!!

Our dogs are mainly fostered in TN at our parent rescues . We have many wonderful dogs looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $425 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the Maine area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day no questions asked money back guarantee and the dog can be returned to us if things don't work out. We try hard to get good matches in our homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date we have placed over a thousand dogs and puppies in loving homes from Tennessee clear up to Canada!
We have many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and we can pass along that information for your convenience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddie, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
