Mufasa's Story...
Mufasa needs a very special person. He has had quite an adventure in life even though he's only 9 months old. Well when Mufasa was only 5-6 weeks old he had been trapped and brought into the Tucson pound. The rescuer was there to pick up a different litter of kittens and saw him sitting in a wire container scared out of his mind and shaking! He had actually been so frightened that he scraped all the fur off of his nose against the wire cage. Well Mufasa was deemed "feral" and was not able to be rescued. However a kind tech got special permission for his release - ONLY if the rescuer could get the kitten out of the kennel quickly and safely without injuring him. Well she worked up her courage and Mufasa looked frightened but with some quick movement Mufasa was safely out of there! Once home his foster mom discovered Mufasa was terribly anemic from fleas and was one of the most neglected kittens ever. With lots of treatment, good food and love he is a very healthy kitty today. It may have taken mufasa 8 months but he knows now that people can be kind and loving. He absolutely LOVES other cats and has learned by watching them ask for love and pets from people that he is safe and has followed their example. Mufasa needs a loving home who will allow him to fully grow into the affectionate sweet kitty we have already gotten to see - he needs time to trust and warm up. He has become quite a handsome boy who we are so pleased we were able to rescue!

About Saving One Life

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, no kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

We primarily work with cats and kittens of all ages. We frequently take in "behavioral cases" including semi-ferals needing rehabilitation. We do take in purebred cats of all kinds but specialize in the Cornish Rex and Devon Rex. We occasionally have small dogs to medium dogs available. The majority of our animals come from the euthanasia list at the pound or off the rescue list at the humane society. We do have occasional owner surrenders, but we prefer to help those most in need first.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidently got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested for felv/fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely no kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care. Our animals all live in homes with foster parents so that they can be acclimated to all sorts of situations and so that they can live as a part of a family until finding their "forever family" instead of in kennels or cages.
