Mermer's Info...

Mermer's Story...
MerMer is a very special project. Kitties who are deemed "feral" in the pound are more difficult to rehabiltate then others. We fell in love with a group of 5 beautiful orange tabbies who already had clipped ears (suggesting at some point someone thought they were feral). They chatted with us and were very sweet so we wanted to give htem a second chance. All of the others have been socialized and adopted and MerMer (the only boy of the bunch) is waiting for his turn. He needs a home who will let him have his time to himself. He likes to come to us and watch what we are doing but he will likely never be a lap cat. He absolutely LOVES other cats so he'd be a great companion without asking too much from his people. We have never heard him meow but he "runs with the pack" and waits patiently for his humans to get up in the morning. He loves his back scratched and his belly rubbed. He is a sweet kind little soul who we are happy we had the chance to save. If you have a calm loving home to offer to this guy please email for an application or fill one out at www.savingonelife.org

About Saving One Life

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, no kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

We primarily work with cats and kittens of all ages. We frequently take in "behavioral cases" including semi-ferals needing rehabilitation. We do take in purebred cats of all kinds but specialize in the Cornish Rex and Devon Rex. We occasionally have small dogs to medium dogs available. The majority of our animals come from the euthanasia list at the pound or off the rescue list at the humane society. We do have occasional owner surrenders, but we prefer to help those most in need first.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidently got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested for felv/fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely no kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care. Our animals all live in homes with foster parents so that they can be acclimated to all sorts of situations and so that they can live as a part of a family until finding their "forever family" instead of in kennels or cages.

Come Meet Our Pets...

A few of our fabulous cats and kittens can be seen at 2860 E Germann Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286. Call the store or email if you are looking to see if a particular one may be there, otherwise with a completed application we are happy to schedule an appointment with any of the animals in foster homes.

When contacting to find out about a cat/kitten emails are ALWAYS preferred and will get a much faster response. If you are leaving a phone message please speak clearly, leave your name, the name of the animal you are interested in, phone number and a brief message.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with our application which can be found at www.savingonelife.org. After you submit an application please expect a response within 48 hours - please email if you do not get a response in that time frame. We may ask for a phone interview as well if we have additional lengthy questions. We may require home visits for special needs animals on a case by case basis. If you visit a kitty at Petsmart and want to adopt please either submit an application online or in person at the store with one of our volunteers.

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.
