found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Tessa originally came to MWCR in 2008 and was adopted by a family that loves her very much. They describe her as "a dream girl." Due to a pending change in their living situation, the family now needs to find a new forever home for Tessa.
Tessa is a true diva. She's not a morning girl. She’ll go outside when her people get her up, but likes to let them know as she is stretching and walking out the door that she would rather sleep a few more hours. She is most comfortable lying on the couch, but does have a kennel that she sleeps in at night. She loves to ride in the car - preferably in the front, where she can give you directions - but just as long as she gets to ride, she will also take the back seat.
Tessa loves to talk. She talks to the other dogs and to herself, as if she just likes the sound of her own voice. She barks, but mostly when she wants to play ball. And she really loves to play ball, including at night using a large ball that glows in the dark. Tessa has been known to run to the ball and then let one of the other dogs bring it back, as if she is trying to teach others to play. Tessa adores the 7 year old granddaughter in the family and plays for hours with her. She is very used to being around other dogs and plays with them often. On walks, she is a perfect lady. She minds very well, unless she wants to play. Then she must be coaxed a bit.
Tessa displays a distinct herding instinct, occasionally attempting to herd bicycles and four wheelers. Tessa definitely does not like grooming and will bark and pull away when brushed, though she will tolerate brushing when one person gently holds her while the other grooms. She has, however, been fine when an electric shaver was used to trim around her ears. She loves nuts and has been known to sneak them whenever she can find them. She is used to free feeding, meaning that she has food whenever she likes and does very well with that.
Since a small yard could never contain a personality as large as Tessa's, it's preferred that Tessa's forever home be a rural environment or on a large lot. Tessa is used to having freedom to roam on an acreage, so she needs to go to a home that has a fence. Tessa is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. All that this diva needs is a new address and some adoring fans.
