Ms Lizzie's Story...
dob:~9/15/2009 -super-sweet Ms Lizzie-@12lbs- and her litter of 4 tiny puppies(dob: 9/15/2010-all have been ADOPTED!- were found by a gas delivery man, in between housecalls. They had been 'dumped' close to a church, in a very rural area of Rutherford Co, NC. He called a friend, who contacted H4S for our help. They were covered in sores and barely had any hair on them. Through a skin scraping, it was determined that they had Demodectic mange, which they have been treated for and are now ready for her own furever home. Mz Lizzie's adoption fee is $275(includes spay, microchip, Parvo/Distemper, Rabies, & Bordatella vax, current health certificate and transport from foster care in western NC > points N, as far as CT).
Lizzie is in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC

We realize, in a logical perspective, that we are not going to be able to
broadly change the World.
But, we know we can be an advocate of change.
We know that we can not rescue every animal in need,
but little by little, we can help one animal at a time.
We know we CAN make a difference!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ms Lizzie, a Rocky Hill Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Rocky Hill, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Rocky Hill.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rocky Hill already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rocky Hill breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rocky Hill paves the way for another one to be saved.
