Amy's Story...
Update 2/21/11: Introducing Amy!

Amy is one of our newest rescues. She is 2 yrs old and approx. 30 lbs. What a cutie!

Amy is pretty mellow and is quite shy right now. Since she is new to our rescue, we aren't sure if this is how she is all the time, or if she is just overwhelmed by all of the changing experiences she has encountered over the last few weeks. We do know that Amy loves other dogs and would do great in a household with other furry companions. She is fine with cats as well.

Amy's foster home is getting to know her better. As we learn more, we will update this posting. So far, Amy is a wonderful house-guest, loving to lay on her dog bed and in her crate. She is house-trained.

Interested in meeting and possibly adopting Amy? Fill-out an online adoption application via www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.

While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.

If you are not in a position to adopt a pet that tugs at your heart strings, consider sponsoring its care. Click here for details.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amy, a Manchester Boston Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boston Terrier/Boxer for sale in Manchester, or seeking a Boston Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Manchester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manchester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manchester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boston Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with Boston Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manchester paves the way for another one to be saved.
