My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tigard,OR
Crackers is an American Hairless Terrier. He's a little guy - only about 10 pounds, and he's only about a year and a half to two years old. Crackers came to us from an Idaho shelter, where he was turned in by a breeder who had lost their home in foreclosure. Crackers had never been outside in his life, and his nails were so long that his toes are now deformed. He was turned in with Harriett, and both dogs had pneumonia when we got them. Now fully recovered, Crackers is an entirely different dog. He is a lively, happy, brave little dog who plays all day long. He loves people and attention, and thinks that all visitors are only here to meet him! Crackers is trying very hard to be housebroken, and he loves to be praised for doing his duty outside; he does not mark in the house at all. Crackers is fascinated with everything new, and he will bring sticks and bits of leaves back into the house. He gets along very well with all of the other dogs in the house. Crackers likes most children, but he still does the puppy "mouthing", and he chews a little too hard for baby fingers; his fostermom feels that he would be better with older children only. Crackers is very easy to train, and his fostermom is working on his "mouthing". He has probably never been around cats, but he was fascinated by the cats in the vets office. Like all American Hairless Terriers, Crackers has special needs. He wears a little sweater in the cold months and he has to have sunblock on in the summer, because he will sunburn. His foster mom tucks him under a blanket every night. More pictures of Crackers may be found here.
