Ruger is a very sweet, affectionate pooch who loves to be with his people.
He makes excellent eye contact and wants to please….as described by an expert dog handler with the TN State Patrol Canine Division….”Ruger is a PLEASER”.
He crates beautifully – enters simply upon the mention of “kennel” NEVER USE CRATE for punishment…..ONLY for rest during the day & sleep at night with door closed.
He is very keen to recognizing unusual outside noises and will bark when people or cars approach driveway.
Ruger enjoys walks on leash (we’ve been using a harness). When cars approach from either direction, we always say “Over and Stop” to get him off the paved surface onto the side.
He does his duty OUTSIDE…..he can act up for your attention then tug at your sleeve to GO OUT.

Soft bed and curling up in a cozy chair with his blanket

Things to be aware of:
These are not unusual issues and should be common sense values by any knowledgeable dog owner: (1) As a 2yr old, he has a lot of energy and curiosity. Good, daily exercise, running inside a fenced area is necessary to prevent inappropriate behaviors and boredom from happening inside ie: chewing. )of course, remember: he crates very well) (2) He is quick to stand up at counters which needs correction to ensure his safety ie: hot burners on stove, or food on counters, etc. (3) He is extremely fast runner – therefore, strongly recommend a fenced area to protect against traffic or other animals, etc.

Ruger is very gentle and loves to be handled and loved on.
Ruger wants to please!!! He corrects easily and quickly with consistency. He is VERY SMART and RESPONDS to correction.
He is fearless when it comes to obstacles. Almost cat-like in his movements

Our dogs are mainly fostered in TN at our parent rescues . We have many wonderful dogs looking for homes!
