Honey's Story...
Honey is a sweet 3-4 month old Shepherd mix. She (and her brother Trevor) came to us from another rescue group that just did not have room.

Honey is a really sweet girl - hence her name. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and dewormed. Honey is good with dogs, cats, and children of all ages. She is doing very well on housebreaking and leash training. She is just waiting for you to take her home!! If you are interested in Honey, please contact Angela, our Canine Adoption Coordinator, at a_duffek@rornfp.org for more info. Please note, we do not have a building, so there are no "viewing hours". Please email for an application as our volunteers may not be able to return your call promptly. Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Honey, a Oak Lawn German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Oak Lawn, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Oak Lawn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Lawn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Lawn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Lawn paves the way for another one to be saved.
