My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duncan was found wandering and Very hungry in rural Southeast ohio. He appeared to have been on his own for awhile....No body's dog, but Everybody's dog. He would try as hard as he could to be with a family, but He was being threatened by some folks.... gonna be shot!
So a kind neighbor, took him dogfood and finally gained his trust, and he subsequently, jumped in their truck. Their intention was to take him to a pound, but being a Big Black Dog, with evidence of a skin condition of some sort, would not have given him much of a chance of finding a family. Plus those sweet eyes of his, tugged at more than a few Heart Parts.

So off he went to Columbus to be given a Second Chance at a First Class life.
This fella has just the kindest eyes and in just a few short days, has proven to be loyal and obedient. He is however, big and does seem to have Great Dane, so will be a Large fella when grown. He is probably about 9 months to a year old.

His loss of hair and 'skin condition' turned out to be from malnutrition and he is on the mend, growing back his coat, after only 1 week.

Duncan has learned some basic commands and is a Wonderful student.

I think that he would be a wonderful therapy dog. Even though he's big, he is so gentle and interested in people. Actual height 27" at the shoulder.

Duncan almost never barks, and he is graceful like a thoroughbred and playful with other dogs, has no trouble riding in cars and has good manners while doing so. He is extremely well behaved, quick to respond to commands, and affectionate toward anyone he has met. Even so, I think he might be okay as a guard dog because he has a big bark when he needs to and would not be friendly to an intruder.

He is learning to walk on a leash, is housebroken and would love a life with an Active person and a future so bright that he will need sunglasses! He gets along with all dogs...don't know about cats. He does have web feet, so may want to explore a career in swimming.
Are you a runner or active walker..or looking for a therapy dog candidate..he would be perfect. For more information and updates, PLEASE contact Agnes
