Pixie (Iowa)'s Story...
Pixie is a very petite, 4 years old, red and white, female Shiba Inu that weighs 13 pounds. She is beautiful, extremely charming and a lover.

Pixie’s condition doesn’t allow her to walk on all four legs, but instead she will pull her foot up off of the ground and walk in a tripod fashion. Currently she is taking pain medication to alleviate the pain. With the surgery and rehabilitation her prognosis for full recovery is excellent.

Thank you to all who donated to Mona’s medical fund. Her excess funds are making Pixie’s surgery possible and helping other Shibas in need.

The adoption fee for Pixie is $250.

Pixie is currently on medical hold as she recovers from ACL surgery.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie (Iowa), a Round Lake Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Round Lake, or seeking a Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Round Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Round Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Round Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Round Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
