Ellie's Story...
As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Barb at SSebright@aol.com to find out when and where you can meet ELLIE!

Hi, my name is Ellie and I'm a 1 year old, Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix who only weighs 9 lbs. As you might see, I don't take a very good picture because my cute, pushed-in black nose, my flashing black eyes and my silky black fur blend together to hide my sweet personality. You have to meet me to appreciate me! I've only been in my foster mother's home for a short while and part of that time has been recuperating from my spay. I didn't like that too much but when I feel good, I'm full of energy and love to play and run around in the yard. I do like to ride in the car and I sit very quietly in either the front seat or the back. I also love being held because I do love to cuddle! My foster mom says I haven't had any accidents and am very dutiful about going outside to do my business.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Overland Park Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
