Jack's Story...
Jack is a 4 year old Lab/Husky mix who weighs in at 112 lbs. Since he should be 75 lbs., he is better known as Walrus. Jack has been eating too many snacks and playing "couch potato" for last couple of years which means he is anxious to drop a few pounds and start a gradual exercise program. He gets along with other dogs once he gets to know them. Jack is couch trained, house trained and likes to lay around all day. Jack loves people and especially loves to be a cuddle bug (and is there a lot to cuddle!). Despite his weight, he is surprisingly healthy. Jack is currently in foster care, living on a couch.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Mark at 816 807-3211 or email at: markbopp-hahs@comcast.net to find out when and where you can meet JACK!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Husky for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Husky dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Husky breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
