found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and not good with cats.
Sal is a sweetie; he'd rather lean on you and get a doggie-butt-scratch than race around in the yard, but he can do that, too. He's very athletic.
Sal is strong, and still a bit of a pup, so kids should be comfortable around a big guy, and probably 9 years old or older. Sal gets along with most other dogs he's met here, but he can be a bit dominant. He will do best if he is the only dog in the household. We think that he will do well playing with other dogs for short periods of time in controlled areas. Sal probably won't enjoy being with a kitty, but it might depend on the cat.
Attention sun worshipers: if you want to be in the sun with Sal all day, you'll have to be prepared to apply sunscreen to him. Except for the striking spot on the top of his head, Sal is very white with very pink, sun-burnable skin.
Like all youngsters, big and small, Sal and you will benefit from basic obedience training. He's very attentive to people, wants a pat more than a treat, and should be an excellent candidate for training. You can start with the free lessons at the shelter each Saturday morning, and go on to regular obedience when you're done with that.
Come to the SB County Animal Services shelter and meet SAL. A K-9 PALS volunteer will wiggle him out to you for a meet and greet as soon as your application is done. Sal is ready for an active, loving home - sunscreen required!
