Murphy's Story...
Murphy is a GORGEOUS black lab with his AKC registration papers. He is 7 years old and is fantastic dog. Please do not let his age fool you, he may a bit older, but he is very young in spirit and mind. Murphy is tall and slim, weighing about 70lbs and has a shiny, healthy black coat. He will be a terrific dog for an avid runner as a running partner and/or would do great with an active family. Murphy would love to go hiking, camping, swimming, ball playing, walking, or any other activities a dog can be involved with. Murphy is house trained and has very good house manners. He loves to chase the tennis ball or just chew on a nice compressed rawhide bone and of course, he likes to get good boy treats in which his foster dad gives him often. Murphy is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is also micro-chipped and kept on prevention for heartworm, flea and tick. If you are interested in adopting this gorgeous lab, please fill out an application and request him on the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Murphy, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
