Waldo's Story...
Waldo is a wirehaired dachshund, all black. Yes, dachshunds come in all black lacking the B gene which marks the dachshunds with tan. Waldo is a great dog and loves everyone. Not known if he has been exposed to cats. He gives kisses and is happy in the recliner, going for rides, hiking in the mountains, and sleeping in the big bed. His legs are slightly longer than the well bred dachshund, but all the better for hiking and stairs. He is a great family dog for families with well behaved children. If you are interested in adopting Waldo, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application. www.almosthomerescue.org If you have any questions about Waldo, email his foster Mom at Bunnydog@bellsouth.net Waldo is located in western N.Carolina, please consider transportation needs before applying from out of state.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Waldo, a Lawndale Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lawndale, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lawndale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lawndale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lawndale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lawndale paves the way for another one to be saved.
