Rosie's Story...
This Rosie dog, ran into the cafeteria of a local school. She knew where to go, as she was hungry, and wet. A wonderful teacher, took up the cause, and did not rest until she found a rescue that would take her. Pat, who founded A Voice for Pets, took her in, because as a retired teacher herself, she knew about dogs being dropped off near schools when their owners didn't want them any more.
Rosie is sweet, she is gentle on the leash. She will make a great companion, take long walk with you, and lay by your couch in the evenings.
She does not like cats, and since she is so big, a home without small children would be good.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie, a Afton Golden Retriever/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Boxer for sale in Afton, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Boxer dog from a breeder in Afton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Afton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Afton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Afton paves the way for another one to be saved.
