My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

xAs you can see Barkley is very overweight! We are not sure how this happened as Barkley is a an active guy. He did have an owner who surrendered him to the pound in his very obese condition. Despite his weight he is eager to go on walks, play with other dogs and romp around with our volunteers. We are confident that with regular activities Barkley will be back down to a much healthier weight!

Barkley has quite the personality. All that meet this handsome brindle boy love his goofy, playful personality. Here are some comments from our volunteers about their time with our cute guy:

'Barkley was very excited to be out and about. His energy was quite high for as overweight as he is. We went on a long walk just fine and had very good leash manners. He walked next to my side the entire walk although he did jump up on me often, just wanting my love & attention. His demeanor was very playful and happy. Overall, he would be a great fit in a family that is medium exercise level. His ability to jump in and out of the car was surprising and he rides very well in the car."

Barkley is looking for a a home that will love him for all the days of his life. He needs a home with regular walks and playful.
