Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE: COURTESY POST FOR ANOTHER RESCUER.
Akita is a real go-get-her for sure and true to her breed. She loves to herd and would enjoy a job or sport where her talents are put to work. Akita needs a breed savvy owner who knows German Shepherds. We are looking for a new foster home who can commit to her for several weeks/months while we search for her permanent home. Akita is now spayed and never felt better...LOL!
Akita is a 75 lb, 6 year old German Shepherd Dog. Her owner has passed away leaving several of her dogs behind.
Akita is a friendly girl but likes to herd when ever possible. She needs to be reined-in when she gets too frisky. Akita was tested with cats and she appeared rather fearful and wanted to chase them away. More socializing will be needed there before we recommend she/they live with cats. Akita will benefit from obedience training with her new owner so she knows what is expected of her.
