Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
If you would like to provide a forever home to an older girl, please consider Sally. She has outlived her owner and as he didn't have any family, the neighbor took her in. He is now hospitalized and can no longer care for her so this sweet girl ended up a shelter which is no place for a senior dog (or any other dog either). Sally is about 10 years old and she weighs 15 pounds. She looks like a corgi mix but has a thick heavy coat. Sally is house trained, very quiet, very sweet and is a very "easy keeper." She tolerates the other dogs and will scold them if they are too energetic towards her! She just likes to walk around outside when it is nice out. Sally is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her adoption fee is only $50 and she is spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots, worming and has a HomeAgain microchip. SALLY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME! FOSTERING IS FREE AND EVERYTHING IS PROVIDED.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
• Homeowners: Preferred
• Status of adopter: Mature adult
• Previous dog owning experience: Preferred
• Age of children: Teens
• Another dog in the home: Not required
• Cat(s) in the home:
• Fenced yard: She loves being outside so a fenced yard would be nice
• Time alone on work days: She can hang out while her person is at work
