Beau's Story...
Beau came to rescue from a local shelter. He tested positive for heart worm disease when we got him so his previous owners did not take care of him properly. He has gone though treatment and is now heart worm free. He is very affectionate and is up to date on vaccs, micro chipped, and house trained if monitored. Please keep your dog on heart worm preventative year round.
We require a secure fenced yard, we do not accept "invisible" or electric fences. We will check your fence. All our dogs are spay/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on prevention, on Flea & Tick prevention and microchipped. Dentals are completed as needed. You may meet our dogs at Petco on W. 75th Street, just East of Metcalf in Overland Park, KS on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10 to 2 and the 1st Sunday of the month from 11 to 3 or by Appointment. We DO NOT SHIP our dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Beau, a Mission Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Mission, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
