Angel's Story...
This is Angel. She is a one year old Chihuahua, chocolate brown with tan, 7#. Angel has had a rough start to her young life. She came from a shelter where she had been abandoned. It is clear she has had at least one litter. She did not receive any veterinary care or heartworm prevention. Sadly, she became heartworm positive. As you can see from the picture her front leg is deformed. She has been examined and x-rays show no signs of a fracture. This was most likely caused from an injury early in life. Her handicap does not stop her from getting around and running when it is dinner time.

Angel has had her heartworm treatment and is ready for adoption. She still has a few more weeks of recovery time where she needs to rest. Angel is current on all vaccinations, she has been spayed and micro chipped. With her adoption you receive 30 days of free pet health insurance from ShelterCare.
Angel was very fearful at first and needed to learn to trust again. She is a sweet dog that now craves attention. She has a Chihuahua personality and lets the other dogs in her foster home know she is no whimp. She will play with the other dogs some, but she would be happy to be an only dog. She is very cat curious. No small children please. We are looking for that special person that can see past her handicap and give Angel a loving home.

If you would like to meet Angel please go to our website and complete an application www.wimberleywagrescue.org. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received. Thank you for reading about Angel.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Angel, a Wimberley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Wimberley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Wimberley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wimberley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wimberley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wimberley paves the way for another one to be saved.
