Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gylfie came from a shelter in Gladwin Michigan. When she arrived at the shelter she had a terrible leg wound that was tended to immediately. It was assumed she was hit by a car and the wonderful staff took care of her very well! The surgery went off without a hitch and Gylfie came out smelling like roses with a pretty cool little scar on her right hind leg!
Now the shaved fur from surgery is growing back in and you can barely notice the difference. She has no signs of physical injury and gets around just fine!
Gylf, aka Gylfinda the Goodwitch and Gylfinda Williams loves to snuggle with her people. She likes to hop up on laps and give sweet kisses to people faces! She sleeps well in the crate although she is hesitant to enter, once she is put in, she is just fine. She does seem to have some nervous issues with stairs but we are assuming this is just because wherever she came from there was none.
Gylfie is a very special little girl! She is a tall and leggy beagle and runs very fast. She is very shy and timid of quick movements and loud noises. She likes to stay near her people and moves in tandem with them as they move about the house and the yard.
She also love, love, loves other beagles! She is naturally very shy but her personality sprouts in the presence of other dogs… she would be a great companion beagle to an older or younger dog. She has good energy and is very comfortable snuggling up with other pups! Also she is very sweet to cats, and doesn’t try to chase them.
Gylfie doesn’t have much of a singing voice, she is very quiet and we have yet to hear her bay! We only heard her bark once and that was when she was playing with our other two beagles and they were “arguing” over a toy.
We are working on basic commands for Gylfie to follow. As far as we can tell she is a blank slate and has never been taught the basics. Gylfie does well on a leash and is pretty attentive. We are also working on re-establishing good potty habits.
She is a very pretty girl with a sweet disposition. She would be a great addition to any family, especially ones with beagles already established as she seems to learn a lot from the pups around her!
