My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS SKIPPER...and he's a little confused. This tiny, 4 lb, 5 1/2 yr old purebred Maltese has found himself homeless. HIs mom and dad and 3 yr old human sister are moving to Texas, and they can't take him with them. Skipper has been a pampered pup...he has gone to the groomer every week since he was 1 yr old!! He has become very guarding of his human mom and it has been difficult for her with a toddler. She told us he barks to protect her....we have not heard him bark yet! With some training and a different environment, we are hoping that Skipper feels very secure and doesn't feel the need to guard. Mom said that he would not bark when she left him alone...just when she was around!! Skipper is afraid of cats, as he was attacked by one when he was young. He also hasn't been around a lot of dogs, although we are socializing him. The best home would be one where he gets a lot of attention and he can just be a loving lap dog!! That's what he wants to be! He is definitely a pocket pooch at 4 lbs! He is housetrained thru a doggie door and pee pads...however he has been known to have accidents when he is not happy! This is very typical of a maltese!!! Come see this pup at our adoptions event on Sunday in Brentwood at the Farmer's Market between Montana and San Vicente on Gretna Green Way, (mapquest 740 Gretna Green Way, Brentwood, CA). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at
