Maddox's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, and up to date with shots.

Maddox's Story...
Maddox is a super sweet 7 year old fellow with a spirited personality and a big heart.
He is a "powderpuff" Chinese Crested dog, which means that he has very fine silky hair (not hairless variety).
He is in good health, up to date with his shots, and neutered as well as a fresh dental to keep his pearly whites nice and healthy!
Because he dsoesn't have thick fur, he needs a raincoat or a sweater in the winter weather.
He also needs a lot of exercise to work off his high doggy energy!
He loves attention, so a stay-at-home doggy parent would be ideal.
He is not aggressive, but he is competetive for attention and affection (or food) so he would probably be best as an only dog or only with another dog that will let him be "top dog."
He needs to be securely leashed whenever he is walked, and his yard/play area has to be securely fenced --- he is like a greyhound if he gets loose -- will chase squirrels, the wind, etc.
He really is an incredibly affectionate and sweet dog, and I hope you can find someone who can provide him with a safe home and enough attention to really appreciate and enjoy what he has to offer.
Maddox is living in foster care so if you would like to meet him please fill out the adoption application at www.pixieproject.org and email or fax that in! His adoption fee is $100.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddox, a Portland Chinese Crested dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinese Crested for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chinese Crested dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinese Crested breeders who help with Chinese Crested rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
