My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grouch is a Shih Tzu. He is White with a little black. Grouch is 6 Months old and was born August 28th 2010. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She weighs around 9-10 lbs. She should be anywhere from 11-13 lbs full grown.

Grouch is a dainty little girl with a HUGE personality! She was born here at the rescue after her mom was rescued from a very bad home and she was pregnant. Then early one morning on August 28th, Grouch and her siblings were born. This little spit-fire got her name for her adorable but grumpy looking expression that she's been giving since she was a pup. She is anything but a grouch but since the nickname stuck she started to really respond to it. Grouch is the smallest of all her siblings but you wouldn't know that meeting her. Grouch loves adventure, she loves exploring all around the house and loves when she finds something new! This little girl sometimes is so excited to see new people that she seems like she's bouncing towards you with springs in her feet. Grouch also loves toys of all sizes and shapes. She loves anything that she can carry around and chew on. She also loves to play with a rope and tug it between her and her sister. Grouch just loves bring around other dogs and people. She also LOVES food, especially if it happens to be anything resembling peanut butter since she has decided that's her new favorite food! Grouch is an adorable pint size little girl who wants a forever home of her very own!

Grouch would do well in any household. She loves adults, kids, other dogs, and cats. She would love another doggie pal to play around with, especially if they were around her size so she can wrestle with them. She's been raised around her siblings which include her four brothers who already have found their forever homes and her other sister Bugz. Right now Grouch is puppy pad trained, but will have no problems switching to going potty fully outside since the weather has finally become nice enough for her to enjoy it. We have tried leash training her, and it's going well so far but Grouch just prefers to be carried instead of walking on her own, and with her size it's not a problem. Grouch already loves the furniture, especially if the couch has a very comfy top that she can perch on beside your shoulder while watching movies. Grouch has been spoiled just like the rest of her siblings so we want her to go to her forever home to continue to be pampered. She is the only one of her siblings who has more of the silky coat so she won't have the fluffy hair but looks very adorable having it shaved down like she has right now. Grouch will make a perfect little girl for anyone wanting a pint size girl to love.

Grouch is not aggressive with other dogs, she has been with small, large, young and old dogs.

At the rescue we require dogs to be kept indoors.

There is a $650 Adoption Fee for Grouch. Which includes Three Booster (Parvo/Distemper) Shots, Three Sets of Worming, Three Vet Check Up's, Flea/Tick Prevention, and her spay which will take place early April.
