My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie is an amazingly perfect Great Dane.

She is just about 14 – 16 months old and is perfectly well behaved. She has had obedience training and knows all her basic commands. Not to mention, Dixie is absolutely stunning. She weighs maybe 85 pounds, so she isn’t huge, but she certainly is a big girl!

She has a perfect Dane face and long, lean super-model legs

Dixie is incredibly mellow, sweet, and gentle. She walks well on a leash and although she is so gentle and good, no one would mess with someone walking a dog like this -- but they WOULD want to know where you found such a beautiful, perfect buddy!

Until I fostered a couple of Great Dane mixes, I have to admit that I didn’t know what incredibly great dogs these are – hence “Great” Dane! They are the epitome of gentle giants – a big girl like Dixie will make a fabulous family companion.

Dixie is a healthy, hearty girl, only a pup at a year old, and is great with all of my other critters including pigs, lambs, burros, and goats. She is wonderful with other dogs, big and small, and seems to ignore my kitties. She is a gem with children – very tolerant and calm.

She isn’t a barker or a jumper, she comes when she is called, and isn’t a wanderer. Her favorite position is lying on her dog bed watching me go about preparing her dinner.

Dixie is spayed, up to date on all her shots, and ready for her forever home.
