Fiona's Story...
Fiona is a sweet but shy 2 year old girl. She was originally adopted from our rescue when she was a small kitten, however her family had their home foreclosed on and Fiona unfortunately had to return to rescue. She was heartbroken for the first few months and hid under the bed avoiding everyone. As she's started to learn to trust again, she's become a very affectionate and loving girl. She starts purring the second you look at her and nuzzles for pets. She loves to snuggle with you at bed time (and is rather quiet during the night). She tolerates other kitties being around but doesn't like them in her face. She avoids dogs and just hides from them. It's unknown how she'd do with kids, older kids would probably be fine as long as they gave her space - she'll come to you for love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Chandler Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chandler, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chandler.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chandler already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chandler breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chandler paves the way for another one to be saved.
