Phil's Story...
I am a very playful and loving young kitty. My foster mom calls me "Phil the Pill" because I am so full of life. But I'm also very well behaved, gentle, and sweet. I am a beautiful grey "tuxedo" with shiny grey coat and white bib and boots (and whiskers). I am strong and healthy now but my early start was difficult. My mom was not strong and knew she would not survive to see me grown. She brought me and my sister Coco to a home where I could be found and taken care of. She fed me as long as she could under a bay window overhang until the family noticed us there. I was bottle fed by two foster moms night and day until I was strong enough to eat on my own. I have been very loved and hope to find a life-long loving permanent home. Before being listed for adoption, all of our cats have been: Spayed or Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids (if from a litter of kittens, most will be tested), treated for common parasites, Vet checked, and fostered so behaviors can be observed. Our adoption fee is $75 with purebred cats slightly higher.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting animal welfare. We emphasize low-cost spay and neuter programs and information programs to try and reduce the companion animal overpopulation so thousands of adoptable pets are not euthanized each year. We assist in trap, neuter, and release for improving welfare in feral cat communities. The cats and kitties we offer for adoption are generally abandoned or born in at risk environments. All cats offered for adoption are spayed or neutered, have up to date vaccines, are combination tested, and fostered in home environments.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phil, a Germantown Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
