Max's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Max's Story...
Meet Max! Max, whose mom was a purebred Border Collie and whose dad was a purebred Australian Shepherd, is about 5 months old. He has been neutered, vaccinated, is on heartworm and flea preventive, and has been microchipped. He’s all ready – now we just need to find him his new family!

Max is an extremely bright and active puppy who will do well in a home with other dogs and/or cats or children (but not children under 7 years old; he might unintentionally knock them over!) He will need daily mental and physical stimulation and will be trainable for just about any canine sport or activity, including disc, agility, and flyball. He would also make a great companion for an athlete who wants a running companion because he has lots of stamina and energy.

Max is looking for a family that will continue his ongoing trainingand help him learn new, appropriate things. Left on his own, he can learn inappropriate things himself, like how to empty the garbage or relieve a pillow of its insides! Given his own toys, he will likely learn what is chewable and what is not. He is a mannerly puppy and tries hard to behave but continues to wiggle with happiness at being with a human. Max will likely weigh 45 to 55 lbs. when he is full grown.

This beautiful, black and white traditionally marked puppy boy is attentive and loveable and will make a great family addition for a person or family that is active and wants a dog that will be an integral member of the family. He is crate trained, walks well on leash, and is house trained (he uses a dog door in his foster home).

Max is waiting anxiously for his forever family! Is that you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Oliver Springs Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Oliver Springs, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Oliver Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oliver Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oliver Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oliver Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
