Joseline's Story...
Joseline is a smallish, (38lbs) very gentle, sweet and mellow Shepherd mix dog who came into the city shelter as a "stray." But, it is obvious that Joseline must have been in a home for a long time. Initially, very depressed and scared in the shelter, Joseline seemed to be grieving the loss of her people and home. She ended up on the Euthanasia list. Fortunately, for Josh, both the Dog Behaviorist at the shelter and one of the other staffers saw something special in Joseline and pulled her off the list. She now needs to find a loving foster or adoptive home AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so she doesn't end up back on the death list. If you can foster or adopt lovely Joseline, please call us IMMEDIATELY! (212) 427-8273. She would be an ideal dog for a quiet home, city apartment or working home. Joseline seems to LOVE other dogs and responds very happily and positively to them. Other animals might be desirable in her case. Please call us ASP if you can help save Joseline!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joseline, a New York German Shepherd Dog/Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Shiba Inu for sale in New York, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Shiba Inu breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
