This is Sandie's story: one of our volunteers was at a volleyball tournament at Amarillo High School and watched Sandie all afternoon running in and out of cars in a panic, acting like she was trying to find her owner. She continually tried to attach herself to people who just shooed her away. The volunteer finally intervened and brought her to the shelter. We never found her owner so she needs a new home and family. Sandie is now approx. 7-8 years old and is one of those 'adorable' pit bulls. She has a beautiful, feminine face and is intensely loving and loyal. Sandie is also every energetic and playful; she will need lots of time and attention from her new owners. Sandie is ok with some dogs and not ok with others. She typically gets along with large, strong, playful male dogs who won't let her be bossy with them. Sandie will need supervision in housetraining because we don't know her background. Sandie will also need a very secure fence. Please come see how her. If you are interested in Sandie, please call the Amarillo SPCA at 806-622-0555 or visit the shelter at 11901 S. Coulter.
