My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simon is approximately 10 years old. He likes people and enjoys their interaction and companionship. He is an old-fashioned gentleman who likes to pay your lap a visit now and again, but doesn’t often camp out for too long. He is devoted to his patrol-cat role at night to make sure his home and people are all tucked in safely, so doesn’t often curl up at night on the bed.

Simon simply loves the laser pointer and plays quite a bit for a man of his age, but can often be found lying in his favorite chair taking a nap. He loves to sleep in the sun and watch for interesting activity outside, so would love to go to a home where he can perch in some of the windows to keep an eye on outdoor activities. He can be talkative at times and has been known to hold entire (often amusing) conversations with his people.

As you can see from his picture, Simon has a long, lush coat but is very conscientious about grooming (mostly because he’d rather take care of it himself than have you mess up his lovely coif with a brush). Simon is very vocal, especially when he feels it is time for dinner, which is fairly often. For this reason, he needs to go to a home where meal portions can be controlled, despite his imploring looks.

Simon is up to date on all of his vaccines and, of course, has been neutered. He gets along well with other cats and dogs, and we think he’d like to be in a home where he will have a buddy. He has lovely house manners and will make someone a wonderful, well-behaved companion.

Simon, like all ARCF cats for adoption, has been neutered, microchipped, is up to date on vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Simon, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.

Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc. is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets. All our animals live with volunteers in their homes until they are matched with the right permanent family. Thank you for considering one of our pets for adoption.
