GRIFFIN's Story...
***THIS IS A COURTESY POST**Griffin is a South African Boerboel, he is located in Southern California. Griffin is approximately 2-3 years of age and despite his size, he is still very much a puppy. He's very loving, very playful and he is also deceptively strong so a firm but gentle hand is all that's needed to keep him in line. Someone with previous large breed/mastiff experience will understand and have no difficulty in handling Griffin. Griffin is protective of his home and grounds and as with any Boerboel; he wants to spend all his time with his family.

Griffin has been around smaller/medium dog breeds with no issues, but his brief encounters with cats and other small animals (rabbits) have not gone well. He's very curious about them and wants to play with them, but they don't share his enthusiasm. We have no concerns about kids; in fact he's done well around them in all encounters so far. However, because he likes to jump up on people (a habit we're working to break) we'd recommend a family with older children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GRIFFIN, a Phoenix Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
